A little history
The cemetery reserve was set aside in June 1875, following a petition signed by 28 local residents. Five of the petitioners, representing different religious denominations, were appointed as trustees in December that year.
By April 1878 the site had been cleared and fenced and was ready for public use. The first recorded burial took place in 1879.
Many of the pioneers of the Rosewood, Ebenezer, Jeebropilly and Amberley districts are buried here. Many were farmers who settled the district during the middle of the nineteenth century.
